About Me and this Blog

So, I’m a 29 year old Aussie who has never been overseas (unless you count a Fairstar cruise to the South Pacific).

I am living and working in Washington D.C. for 11 months and looking for a new outlook on the next 30 years of my life.

Join me in the ride as I attempt to blog and photograph my year.

The Bridging Year.

The Year I turn 30, and the year I try to work out where I am and what the hell I want.

I think you have to ask yourself – Who am I? What do I want? and What is my Purpose in Life? I find it keeps me focused on what is important to me as opposed to what other people and society thinks is important. Have fun with the exploration.

I’m keeping a political satire blog up for consumption, the Washington beltsider (www.thewashingtonbeltsider.wordpress.com) , for throwing brick bats at the political and punditocratic establishments, via two alter-egos, Terri Firma (intrepid and idealistic, like an Amy Goodman) and Tom Toburn (phlegmatic, arrogant, obtuse, but a little endearing like Charles Krauthammer by way of Steven Colbert). If you like, give it a look, and if you like it and want to exchange links on blog rolls, I’m game. Just e-mail me back your link.

Thanks in advance,

Mark Dreskin

Hi Micheal, Caught up with Ian the other week and he sent me your little site. Looks like you have changed your plans since last I saw you! Doesn’t sound like such a bad plan as you only get one life as far as I have found so if you are not getting all you need where you are you may as well try some where else.

I wouldn’t worry about after Xmas till you get there, some thing along the way will point you in a direction.

Maybe it is what you want, tho if you havn’t figured that out by 29, you might just as well try doing what you do now, only better?
Or go see an industrial, or commercial or management phychologist?
If blogging is of value, you do it well, but I suspect mostly only your unatached friends have both the time and the interest to read it?
